RO PLANT INSTALLED IN KENDRIYA VIDYALAYA,ASHOK NAGAR

Nov 22, 2011.

Thanks to the efforts of our IPP, Rtn. B.Murali who initiated steps for a Matching Grant during his tenure last year, our Club dedicated a RO Plant in Kendriya Vidyalaya School, Ashok Nagar this evening.

IPDG Olivannan was the Chief Guest and Dr.S.Subramanian, Nominee Chairman, VMC, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Ashok Nagar was the Guest of Honour. IPP Rtn. B.Murali was the MC of the event. In his welcome speech, Rtn. AC Ravi Rangaswami stressed the importance of safe drinking water for children because water is considered synonymous with life. Drinking water should be free from pathogenic organisms (bacteria, virus, fungus, ameba, and other harmful organisms). Since water is such an important component to our physiology, it would make sense that the quality of the water is given prime importance and hence the provision of the RO Plant in the School Vidyalaya really gladdens the hearts of Galaxians.

IPDG Olivannan unveiled the plaque and lauded the efforts of our IPP Murali in getting this plant approved. Rtn.KS Srinivasan of the Rotary Club of Nanganallur, who was instrumental in getting this project sanctioned was in for praise from the IPDG and the entire audience gave their nod with a warm round of applause. Mrs.Prasanna Kumari, Principal of the School thanked Rotary for the support and said that the availability of purified water was a boon to the school children. Rotarians Alex, David, Vishal, Babu, Amarnath, Guhan, Mathivanan & Punithan were present on the occasion. PP Rtn Amarnath proposed the vote of thanks
