‘Vocational Services’   is the most important aspect on which whole movement of Rotary rests. We are Rotarians because we are leaders in our Vocation.  We have filled a classification and represent our vocation in our club and represent Rotary in our vocation.

So, we have a two pronged objective – one Looking Inward – to live up to Rotary’s and the worlds expectation from us  of adhering to and  promoting high ethical standards in all our business dealings and recognize  worthiness of all  occupations. And two Looking Outward- to lead others by our example and experience to get into a gainful vocation and to celebrate excellence in Vocations. And to contribute our professional expertise and skills to addressing societal problems and needs.
Looking Inward:
Activiy  for Rotarians, Organizations of   Rotarians, Family and Associates of Rotarians.
  • Propagating the ‘ FOUR WAY TEST’ and encouraging the display of the FOUR Colleges, Public Offices etc where Rotarians have a reach.
  • Declaration of Rotarians in Business and Professions’ – creating awareness about this important document among Rotarians.
  • Advancing high ethical standards in the workplace of Rotarians.
  • Classification Talks’ or ‘My Job Talks’ – by Rotarians in their own clubs, at Interact and Rotaract Clubs.
  • Organising Tours to members work place, factories etc.
  • Organise occasional weekly meeting at the work place of a member.
  • Maintain an updated Filled and Unfilled Classifications List of the Club.
  • Recognizing Rotarians Excelling in their vocations – Self Employed – Institute a Entrepreneur of the Year Award’
  • Recognising Rotarians who have led their organizations to great heights (Employed)
  • Trade / Business Delegations to a Rotary District in another country which offers Business opportunities or within the country:
  • Maximizing utilization of existing )n-Going projects of various Rotary Clubs by reffering candidates, or offering jobs to trained candidates.
  • Organising powerful Speakers on Current issues of Vocational Significance at joint meetings of Rotary Clubs.
  • Trade / Business Delegations to a Rotary District in another country which offers Business opportunities or within the country:
  • Create awareness of Business Seminars and Conventions happening in our part of the world to members and encouraging participation.
  • Trade / Business Delegations to a Rotary District in another country which offers Business opportunities or within the country:
  • Organise “Workshops on Ethics in Vocation’ to promote Rotarys commitment to high ethical standards.
NOTE : Workshop on Vocational Services being organized on Sunday, the 13th of June AII AG’s,                Presidents, Secretaries, Vocational Services Chairmen of Clubs to attend.
Looking Outward:
  • Conduct one day Workshops for improving the ‘Employability – Quotient’ of students.
  • Conduct Workshops on ‘Right Attitude’ towards one’s Job, Organisation, Co-employees, Employers, Family-work balance Leading a Quality Life.
  • Programs for School Dropouts:
  • Mentoring for Lesser Privileged Children:‘Each one – Guide one’ (In studies, character building career choice and progress in life) Target: 4000 youth get direction in life at the hands of a leader in society - A Rotarian.
  • If the club can provide for the initial resources – Try to create self sustaining projects like ‘Winners Bakery project of Rotary Club of Madras East.
  • Micro Loans’ to upstart Entrepreneurs.
  • Tie up with banks (Sampoorna Scheme – 2008 – 09)
  • Work as a catalyst for the Bharat Yuva Shakti Trust (BYST)
  • Career Guidance Programs in Schools and Colleges. Let us use our Vocation to Serve.
